16 William Rose Muller Thurgau

16 William Rose Muller Thurgau

William Rose’s adventures often took him to Oregon’s untamed vineyards, where he found unusual grapes unlike any he had encountered before. A very common varietal in Germany, now becoming more popular in the Pacic Northwest, these Muller Thurgau grapes are from the original vines, planted in 1979 on Anne Amie Vineyards, east of McMinnville.

VINEYARDAnne Amie Vineyards, McMinnville, Oregon. Harvest Date: 30 September

WINEMAKINGHandpicked fruit was destemmed and crushed then after approximately 6 hrs of skin contact (to extract avor from the skins) the fruit was drained and pressed. A cool fermentation in stainless was maintained

in order to retain fresh fruity aromatics and at ~1% residual sugars fermentation was arrested to highlight Müller’s delicious fruity characteristics.

TASTING NOTESRose’s Muller Thurgau opens with fresh Jasmine on the nose, leading to lemongrass and apricot. Star bright acidity, with pronounced mineral characteristics, and just a kiss of sweetness makes this wine pair perfectly with aromatic cheeses such as Gruyère or Comté, light fish or shellsh dishes.
